Saffa Jesus vs Aussie Jesus-ThesouthAfrican

By on 13:45

Last week reports emerged of an Australian man who claimed to be Jesus Christ reincarnated – and this week it was South Africa’s turn.
So how do the two candidates compare?
moses
Moses Hlongwane – South Africa
Moses Hlongwane has already gathered more than a dozen disciples, some of which are as young as 14 years old, by claiming that he is the legitimate Jesus Christ and he has set up a compound in the northern KwaZulu-Natal town to house them.
Paul Sibiya, an 84-year-old devotee, is just one of the many who gives his entire pension to Hlongwane and he has even abandoned his wife of 41 years to move into the compound. Sibiya believes he is giving his pension to the “king of the kings as a financial boost.”
Sibiya’s wife Afin, now destitute and lonely, said that when she asked her husband for his reason behind leaving her for his religion, he simply stated “it was the sacrifice he needed to make for his soul.”
Because of incidents such as these, many people have accused Hlongwane of splitting up families.
Hlongwane has ignored these accusations and disbeliefs and has said that, just as his namesake did, he spent many years living in the wilderness before he was resurrected as the son of God.
He continued, “I was in this room from 1992 and have spent 22 years in a fight with the devil and have overcome him. As I speak to you I will never see death and I am now getting ready for the opening of the graves and healing of blind and lame.”
Both Hlongwane and his disciples have said that their overriding mission is to get the whole world to recognise him for who he really is; Jesus Christ.
Alan MillerAlan John Miller – Australia
Former IT specialist Alan John Miller, who believes he is Jesus and his girlfriend is Mary Magdalene, has attracted a following in his native Australia from as far afield as Britain and the U.S.
Miller runs his Divine Truth church from his home in Queensland and through DVDS and his website he tries to convince people that he is indeed Jesus Christ.
The divorced father-of-two claimed ‘very clear memories’ of his crucifixion 2,000 years ago, but said he only ‘remembered’ he was Jesus in 2004, which was what led to the breakdown of his marriage.
In one recording he said, “There’s probably a million people who say they’re Jesus and most of them are in asylums.  But one of us has to be. How do I know I am? Because I remember everything about my life.”
Some 30 devoted followers have bought up much of the land surrounding Miller’s compound. These ‘disciples’ include British former neuroscientist Louise ‘Luli’ Faver, who gave up her career and George Hamel, who left his wife and businesses in California to be closer to the couple.
