The first two people to be voted off the eighth season of the Big
Brother Africa house said they are not bitter but surprised that
their fellow housemates voted them out of the competition.
After being on the show for a week, Uganda's Denzel Mwiyeretsi
and Kenyan model, Huddah Monroe said they still can't believe
they were evicted.
Mwiyeretsi was reprimanded a number of times for walking
around the house in his underwear to a point where Big Brother
ordered him to put clothes on.
He said: "I am not sad but I am rather disappointed at the number
of people back home who were rooting for me to go all the way
in the competition.
"I think a lot of people were intimidated by my personality because
while many hid their true selves, I showed the world what I was all about.
"When I was approached by Endemol (the show's producers) to
be part of the show, I saw that as an affirmation that I am going
to go far with my entertainment career not only in Uganda but in Africa."
The 21 year-old Monroe said her biggest challenge was that on
the first day, she had to nominate someone for possible eviction.
"I was emotional when I was evicted because I didn't get the
chance to rectify things with some people."
She said: "The Big Brother experience was an amazing one
I would really not change any of the events and how they played out.
"I am going back home now to work on my new lingerie line
but I will design it and include other African cultures, something
I learnt from Big Brother."
Mwiyeretsi added: "Everything I knew about the competition
went away because that place overwhelms you; not only is your
life documented for all to see but you also have to employ survival tactics."
Monroe added: "Being part of Big Brother isn't an easy thing
but people should always remember to be themselves and go
in there with a clear mind."
